Technical Requirements
InterMapper network monitoring software runs on:
- Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/Windows Server 2008 (IPv6 support requires Windows Vista SP1 or Windows Server 2008)
- MacOS X 10.4 and newer
- Solaris SPARC and x86
- Linux distributions, including Red Hat, Mandrake, Debian and others
- FreeBSD
InterMapper RemoteAccess runs on:
- Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/Windows Server 2008
- MacOS X 10.4 and newer
- UNIX
- Linux distributions, including Red Hat, Mandrake, Debian and others
Java 1.5 is required. In general, any computer capable of running MacOS X 10.4, or a 1 GHz Pentium or faster Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008 or Unix computer with 512 MBytes of RAM will support InterMapper RemoteAccess.
Specific System Requirements
Macintosh installations require:
- MacOS X or MacOS X Server 10.4 or newer
- 512 MBytes of RAM
- 50 MBytes of disk space (at minimum)is required; 1 GByte or more will allow historical data storage
- InterMapper RemoteAccess application automatically selects the proper Java VM.
Windows installations require:
- Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/Windows Server 2008 (IPv6 support requires Windows Vista SP1 or Windows Server 2008)
- 512 MBytes RAM
- 1 GHz Pentium and 512 MBytes of RAM will work well for at least 500 devices. Larger installations will benefit from a faster processor and/or more RAM.
- 50 MBytes of disk space (at minimum); 1 GByte or more will allow historical data storage
- Java 1.5 or newer required.
Linux installations require:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.0 & 4.0; Red Hat 7.x, 9.x, or Fedora 3, 4, or 5; SuSE 8.0 and newer; Mandrake 9.0 and newer; or Debian 3.0 or newer.
- An x86 processor with 512 MBytes of RAM
- 50 MBytes of disk space (at minimum); 1 GByte or more will allow historical data storage
- Java 1.5 or newer required
Solaris installations require:
- Solaris 8.0 or newer, running SPARC or x86
- 50 MBytes of disk space (at minimum); 1 GByte or more will allow historical data storage
- Java 1.5 or newer required

FreeBSD installations require:
- FreeBSD 4.7 or newer, or FreeBSD 5.3 or newer.
- 256 MBytes RAM is sufficient to run the InterMapper daemon. See the note below regarding Java on BSD.
- 50 MBytes of disk space (at minimum); 1 GByte or more will allow historical data storage
